Their Challenges

  • VMware on prem does not give them the scalability they are looking for.
  • They prefer Azure and AWS, but both data centres are not based in Malaysia.
  • Decided to keep their core application system in VMware on prem, and move their non-core application to cloud.

Their new systems are running smoothly and so far we managed to resolve their infra issues within the stipulated SLA. This gives them peace of mind to focus on their core business objective and does not have to worry about infra scalability issues.

Responsibilities 

  1. Work with Product Management and Products Engineering teams to design, develop, maintain and enhance web-based and mobile-based application platform for worldwide customers.
  2. Involve in product development activities such as business requirement study, coding, integration, testing and documentation.

  4. Participate and contribute in Product Iteration planning and review activities.

Requirements

  1. 2 – 5 years of experience in Android mobile native development.
  2. Strong knowledge in Java, Kotlin and Android SDK.
  3. Experience with REST API.
  4. Experience with Git.
  5. Familiar with modern libraries (Retrofit, GSON, Dagger2, Android Architecture components, .. )
  6. Nice to have experience with following: error reporting tools, performance monitoring tools, CI/CD, automation tools, unit testing, UI testing.
  7. Understanding modern mobile architecture (MVP, MVVM) and design patterns.
  8. Having portfolio / uploaded apps in play store.
  9. Knowledge in AWS, Serverless apps are plus.
  10. Knowledge in Hybrid mobile development (Xamarin, React Native) is a big plus.

ICMC Challenge

ICMC was using a dated EHR system with very old technology and hosted & managed by the EHR vendor. Continue to use the dated EHR is very challenging due to cost and security challenges, and the upgrade to newer technology is very costly, yet still not a native cloud solution. Either way, ICMC can’t afford to continue with the existing EHR system.

StrateqEHR is full stack cloud-based OLTP solution with many integration and interoperability with third party solutions. StrateqEHR is hosted within a VPC in AWS, which utilizing many Amazon EC2, MySQL RDS, Amazon ALB, VPN connection to hospital and partners, WAF, Amazon S3, and so on. Strateq signed BAA with AWS as PHI is being stored and processed in StrateqEHR.

StrateqEHR’s modern and intuitive UI/UX and highly configurable workflow increased adoption rate and reduced learning curve hence significantly reduced the implementation timeline.

Results and Benefits

Strateq managed to migrate ICMC from the aged EHR to StrateqEHR and went live on 6-Nov-2019. From the EHR software alone, ICMC will be saving more than $1 million for the 7 years contract duration. Other savings such as fee for the vendor to host and manage the aged EHR.  As StrateqEHR is a native cloud platform, enhancements and fixes have been deployed in much shorter turn around time and significantly less destructive to hospital operations.

Next Steps

Strateq and ICMC will continue working together for the full duration of the 7 years contract. Strateq will continue to capture requirement and feedbacks from ICMC to improve the StrateqEHR for ICMC and other customers.

Pickens County Medical Center is a short term acute care hospital servicing Pickens County, Alabama. PCMC offer specialty clinics to provide the community access to specialty providers along with inpatient & outpatient services. Strateq 2019 White New Year Party

On 11th January 2019, a New Year Party was held for all of Strateq Malaysia employees with the theme “Strateq 2019 White New Year Party”. The white theme symbolizes a new white canvas for everyone in Strateq to paint the shape of Strateq together; in celebration of the start of a new year.

The party started with registration of all employees to be eligible for the collection of ‘ang pao’,

as well as lucky draw. It was then opened by the Group Managing Director, Mr Tan Seng Kit with

his speech focusing on the need to “Be Kind and Stay Humble” in whatever that we are pursuing

  1. The lucky draw comprises of various attractive prizes such as Apple iPhone, Laptop, Camera,

Smart TV, Smartphones, FitBit watches, etc. was done in phases, alternating with the Long

Service Awards recognition. Dinner was served with a variety of western food, meat station and

dessert corner. The party ended with the announcement of the grand prize winner for the lucky

draw which was a brand new Apple iPhone XS Max.

In light of the start of something new, the party this year was held in the newly renovated

headquarters in Dataran Hamodal, Petaling Jaya Malaysia. The headquarters has undergone a

renovation early 2018 to create a more open and productive working space – promoting an open

concept working style, as well as open communication between top level management and

staff. The inspiring quotes on blocks of vibrant colours, saturate the walls adding a motivational

touch around the office; providing a fresh breath to the working environment.

The Strateq 2019 New Year Party marks the new start of the revamped company look – new

year, new office, new website, new working style.
